Shopping Experience: This is a great deal to find out if you want to get into this hobby. This Detector will find anything any other detectors will find down to 6 inches after that you will still find things but for the most part anything at 8 inches or more, coins, gold this will miss it. Coins can be found easy with the detector if set correct. I paid for mine in 7 months just from clad and pennies.
When you block out something with the quicksilver it does not pick it up. Unlike some others, that only blocks the sound but still pick it up. Not this one nails on top of coins with iron blocked out it will read coin every time now big iron will fool it but most all do that. Cans will fool you but after time you learn to tell it is a can.
You have to look at the ground when it beeps then make the x pattern to pinpoint. Work good if not a lot of junk in the ground. Overall good to start with or for a back up. You will be looking more latter if you stay with this hobby
The Pinpointer has a place and I still use it often. Coins around one half inch if that. Nice for finding small things in dirt dug from the hole.
