Pros: I would say the Pros are that the detector really picks up coins well down to about 6". It is able to indicate whether a coin or less conductive item has been located. It is really reliable and the batteries last a good while before needing to change them and I use cheap batteries from Dollar Tree--if I used more expensive batteries, it probably would work a lot longer time before needing new batteries.
Cons: It doesn't work well on wet sand at the beach. It acts really erratic on wet salt sand. It doesn't have the kind of depth that a decent relic hunting machine would need to find those deeper items at a relic hunting site--if it's over 6" deep for coin sized objects--then forget it!!!
Shopping Experience: Bought mine from a pawn shop but it works really well and has been going strong for last 5 or 6 months since I bought it.
